Below are some recent examples of “standard” IT recruitment work Preferred IT has delivered as well as details of some of the bespoke recruitment services we have implemented to help companies improve recruitment and/or retention within the business. Sometimes these services are “bundled”, often they are delivered as stand-alone pieces of work.
Project Work – Leading IT Solution Provider A long-standing contingency recruitment client was about to embark on a nationwide XP roll-out for 8,000 PCs in over 100 sites across the country. With a 3-4 week timeframe we assembled a delivery team to work closely with the client’s Project Office to source over 30 contractors. Appointing on the basis of the CV, the team achieved a 100% placement rate on candidates submitted. This significantly reduced the time to hire and therefore the total costs of the project. Our successful delivery of this project, combined with our consistent delivery to the client in all IT recruitment areas resulted in us being awarded Managed Service status at the beginning of 2006.
Recruitment Process Improvement – Major BI Provider A long-term client turned to us with a range of recruitment issues they were keen to address - speed up the recruitment process, tighten the screening approach and build its ‘employee brand’ to name a few. We worked together to implement an assessment centre process for the primary technical division and over the last two years the client has seen considerable improvements across all of its recruitment and retention metrics – as a result the programme has been rolled out across the rest of the technology divisions. We are now the Managed Service provider for this client.
Project Manager Resource Pool – Leading IT Services Company When a client required on-demand contract project management resource that could be called upon at short notice to deliver projects to its customers, we took steps to implement a resource pool solution. Our assessment centre model was used to select, interview, assess and partially induct contractors, who were then selected to go into the resource pool. This meant that we executed the recruitment process in advance of the need for resource, reducing the time to hire when projects became live.
IT Salary Audit – Major Blue Chip Like many companies, this business was increasingly becoming dependant on a stable IT department and was concerned about retention and attraction issues. We carried out a salary audit across the IT function and rationalised the IT department into core areas, designed new job descriptions and assigned pay structures for each role. We designed a transparent and competitive pay structure for the entire IT department.
Executive Search – Leading IT Vendor One of our established recruitment clients asked us to recruit an IT director due to our in-depth understanding of their company and culture. We were retained to conduct a ‘search’ to find the right person for this high profile role. This increased the likelihood of success - greater level of discretion, direct approach to researched talent and faster response to agreed timescales - saving the client time and money in filling a business critical role.
Managed Recruitment Service – Leading Finance Company This company was putting a lot of work into getting vacancies filled through a number of agencies, which resulted in delays. We initially worked with them as a contingency recruitment supplier however our delivery rate and professional approach resulted in us being appointed their sole IT supplier at the end of 2004. We are now a real extension to their business – providing a single point for all IT recruitment, market intelligence and resource solutions – resulting in a faster and more efficient recruitment operation and improved credibility amongst the internal HR teams.
